Janet has worked at the Youth Advocacy Centre Inc. for a total of 25 years as a solicitor, the Community Legal Education Officer, CEO and currently as the part-time Policy and Systemic Reform Officer.

The social and legal injustices children and young people face have been the focus of much of her working life. Janet also spent 10 years in government in policy and legislation roles in the Department of Fair Trading and the Department of Seniors,  Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships. In all of these roles, she sought to ensure that the interests and needs of children and young people were considered in policy making.

Janet has been involved as a volunteer or management committee member in other community legal centres and at Community Legal Centres Queensland, the peak body for community legal centres in Queensland.
