Deni Jokovic-Wroe is an Associate in HopgoodGanim Lawyers’ Pro Bono practice.
Deni has specific experience working as a Native Title and cultural heritage lawyer with First Nations clients including prescribed body corporates. Deni’s practice areas also include domestic violence and intellectual property. Her communication skills are often praised, particularly when navigating the complexities and sensitivities of working with First Nations stakeholders. She has extensive experience liaising with clients across both the public and private sectors.
Deni has a particular interest in social justice and has previously volunteered with international community organisations.
Deni holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Social Sciences with Distinction (Sociology & Anthropology) from the University of Newcastle and is currently enrolled on the High Court of Australia’s Register of Practitioners.
Apoorva Abeysundera is a Law Clerk in HopgoodGanim Lawyers’ Pro Bono practice. Apoorva supports the firm’s pro bono work across matters particularly involving domestic and family violence, environmental disasters and First Nations priorities.
Apoorva is a final-year Bachelor of Science/Laws (Honours) student at the University of Queensland. She is Deputy President of the UQ Justice and the Law Society (JATL) and a contributor to the UQ Pro Bono Centre’s Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion NDIS Appeals Database project.
Apoorva also has experience with international humanitarian organisations and has published academic work in property law, focusing on emerging issues at the intersection of displacement and international legal frameworks.
Brett Bolton is a Consultant in HopgoodGanim Lawyers’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.
Brett offers experience in both the contentious and non-contentious areas of this specialty fields, and works with his clients to promote their rights and obligations across a wide range of sectors including agriculture and food, technology, media and communications, private enterprise, hospitality, sport and entertainment, and retail.
He is also a recognised defamation lawyer and has acted for several high-profile Queensland business and public figures in legal actions against most of Australia’s major media and social media outlets.
