Shay-lee Laing is an admitted lawyer and has dedicated her career to rural and remote practice in criminal law in First Nations communities. Prior to this, she has worked for the Queensland Police Service as Senior Prosecutor, the Federal Circuit Court as an Associate and as a clerk for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. She is the President of the North West Law Association and is a member of the Queensland Law Society Wellbeing Working Committee.
