Peace and Good Behaviour Order

A self-help kit to get a Peace and Good Behaviour Order.

This kit is current at February 2017.

When someone has assaulted you or damaged your property, or has threatened to do either of these things, there are a number of orders (decisions made by the court) available to you in this situation.

A Peace and Good Behaviour Order is an order of the Magistrates Court, requiring a person to stop any activity that threatens to cause harm to you or your property, or any person under your care. It does not include harassment and verbal abuse.

Read about what order is appropriate in your case, and how to prove your case and apply for an order. At the end of this document, you can also find the contact details of organisations that can provide legal help and mediation services, and sample documents to help you fill out your forms.
